Who gets priority

These applicants move up the list.

  • Certificate of Preference holders get priority: people who were displaced by San Francisco's former Redevelopment Agency.
  • Displaced tenants get priority: tenants who lost a San Francisco home to a no-fault eviction, a fire, or a rent they could no longer afford when affordability limits ended.
  • Neighborhood residents get priority: households with at least one person who lives within half a mile of this building, or in the same city council district as this building.
  • People who live or work in San Francisco get priority
  • Veterans are ranked first within each priority group
