Fair Shot Housing

Affordable housing by area

Pick an area to see its open listings, when they close and what household income they allow. Fair Shot Housing has 1,396 open listings in 36 US states: lotteries, waitlists, first come listings, Section 8 and public housing waitlists, and lower-priced homes for sale. We also list over 69,000 apply-direct buildings on our buildings pages. They are not open listings. Each one keeps its own waitlist, and you need to ask the building yourself.

States with open listings

Cities and metro areas

A state has a page once it has one open listing. A city or metro area has a page once it has at least 5 open listings; a city inside a metro area on this list is counted in that metro area page. Listings in other places are listed further down this page, and the full search can be filtered by area. Pages with fewer than 10 listings are kept out of search results until they grow.

Open listings in other places

These 3 listings are in places that do not have their own area page yet. Each one is open now, grouped by state.
