Fair Shot Housing

Apply-direct buildings

Buildings with their own waitlists

A building with lower rents that doesn't announce when an apartment opens up. To get in, you need to call or visit its office and ask to join its waitlist.

These are separate from the open listings on the search page, which are taking applications now. Only the building can tell you if a home is free, so call or visit its office and ask.

Where this list comes from

It is built from the federal housing department’s public lists of public housing, Section 8 and other assisted buildings, and tax-credit buildings. The lists do not say whether a waitlist is open, and some waitlists are closed or years long. They may also miss a building or have an old phone number, so confirm with the office. For homes taking applications right now, use the search page or the area-wide waitlists.
