    Yonkers affordable housing: lotteries, waitlists and Section 8

    Most Yonkers affordable housing comes through Westchester County's HomeSeeker site, where buildings run lotteries and waitlists, and through the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers. Its Section 8 voucher list opens rarely; in 2022, it opened from June 27 to July 13, and about 14,500 families applied for 3,000 spots on its waitlist.
