Milwaukee affordable housing: waitlists, lotteries, how to apply
In Milwaukee, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) runs public housing, project-based vouchers and Section 8 vouchers, and tax-credit buildings have lower rents too. You apply to HACM online, and each kind of housing has its own waitlist. Rent is usually 30% of your income. The 2026 very low income limit is $37,950 for one person.
